Elite sports coordinator FDMCI
Nina van Huissteden
The faculty Digital Media and Creative Industry does not have an elite sports coordinator yet which is why Nina van Huissteden currently functions as the main point of contact.
I am Nina Kee-van Huissteden, 39 years old and grew up in Vleuten. I started playing softball when I was very young. I learned the sport at UVV and further developed myself in the big league at HCAW and (multiple national champion) Terrasvogels. From 1998 to 2008, I played as a catcher and captain in the Dutch Juniors team and the Dutch softball team. Nowadays I play Tennis and enjoy my life on the football fields and in the ballet schools with my husband and three children.

Favourite sport moment
For me personally, it was winning the European Championship in 1998 and qualifying for the Olympic Games in 2007. As a spectator, it was the renewal of Olympic Gold by Peter van den Hoogenband and the achievement of Olympic Gold by Epke Zonderland. Then there is also Ajax who outdid themselves in the Champions League season 2018/2019. I also enjoy athletes who perform despite emotional events. For example, Ireen Wust who wins Gold at the World Championship after losing her best friend, Esther Vergeer who uses tennis as an outlet and becomes the best in the world or Leontien van Moorsel who had a battle with herself but still pushes herself to great results in cycling.
