Arrival Days

We can imagine you have questions or concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. You can visit amsterdamauas.com/coronainfo for relevant information and an overview of frequently asked questions and answers. Keep an eye on that page for the latest updates.

  • Current information and Q&As from concerning the novel coronavirus in the Netherlands are available on the RIVM website.
  • The government of the Netherlands is taking various measures to control COVID-19. Find out more on this website.
  • Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education, provides an overview of the impact of COVID-19 on international education.

Normally, AUAS organises Arrival Days to welcome international students in person before they start their study programme. During these days you could arrange several practical matters at the same time.

Unfortunately, we cannot welcome you this way due to the Dutch corona crisis measures. We will organise alternatives to ensure you will experience a soft landing in Amsterdam. Keep an eye on these webpages, which will be updated regularly with new information.

What practical matters do you need to arrange upon arrival in Amsterdam? The following steps below will help you with all the arrangements you need to take care of upon arrival in the Netherlands. Please note that some of these steps are mandatory. This guide replaces the regular AUAS arrival days.
(these topics will be updated when we have new information)

  • Arriving in Amsterdam: public transport

  • Collect your room key for AUAS Housing

  • Register with the municipality of Amsterdam (mandatory)

  • Collect your student ID card

  • Open a Dutch bank account

  • Other practical matters

We look forward to welcoming you to Amsterdam!
