To help you with your enrolment we have listed the most important steps in your admission process below. If any action on your part is required you will be notified by email.

Application deadlines may vary, depending on the degree programme of your choice. Go to the programme overview to find out which deadline applies to your degree programme.

General deadlines:

  • Degree programmes that have an enrolment quota and selection procedure: application for the 2022-2023 academic year is possible until 15 January 2022.
  • Degree programmes that have a study check: no later than 1 May 2022. There are only a few exceptions (pdf).
  • Part-time,dual and Master's programmes: preferably before 1 June, but no later than 31 August 2022.

Programme overview

To apply for a programme at the AUAS go to Studielink. Studielink is the Dutch system used to apply for higher education. You need a DigiD to log into Studielink.
You will receive a welcome email from the AUAS within 48 hours of applying in Studielink.

Applying for a programme in Studielink is free of charge.

All AUAS students receive an AUAS account within 48 hours of applying in Studielink. Your AUAS account is your personal username which, combined with your password, grants you access to the AUAS’s IT facilities. Please activate your account at id.student.hva.nl.

When you apply for a degree programme or a preparatory course at the AUAS, with a non-Dutch diploma your credentials will be checked by the AUAS. You will receive an email invitation to submit all relevant documents proving your secondary school credentials. Read more about the documentation required for credential evaluation.

Credential evaluation can take up 2 to 6 weeks, provided that all documents are in order. It is possible that this step may take up to 10 weeks if erroneous documents are submitted.

For students who require a visa and/or a residence permit to study in the Netherlands, you will be contacted as of 1 May 2022 by our immigration team. The AUAS assists international students in finding accommodation in Amsterdam. Make sure to read this information in advance. If you are admitted you will receive an email after 1 May regarding housing via the AUAS.

Some degree programmes require an intake. This could be an online study check, a selection day or an intake interview, depending on your choice of study. After you have submitted your enrolment request in Studielink the AUAS will send you more information regarding the study check, selection day or intake interview.

Programme overview

​​​​If you are deemed admissible you will be invited to finalise your enrolment as of half May 2022. This includes paying tuition fees and uploading a photo for your AUAS-ID card.

  • Make arrangements to pay your tuition fees via de the immigration procedure.
  • To obtain an AUAS-ID card, you first have to upload a passport photo on mijnhvapas.nl. You will need your AUAS account to do this.
  • Upload any final credentials and certificates that may still be pending and complete the immigration procedure

Once you have completed all required steps in your enrolment, you will receive a Proof of Enrolment.

Start off strong

The AUAS organises Arrival Day(s) to welcome international students before the start of their studies. During the Arrival Day you can arrange several practical matters at the same time such as setting up a bank account, registering at the municipality and picking up your house keys. We strongly advise you to arrive before or on this day in order to visit the AUAS Arrival Day to get a good start in Amsterdam.

From 26 to 30 August, you will get to taste all the flavours of student life as you become familiar with your fellow students, AUAS and the city of Amsterdam. The introduction week combines programme-specific activities with AUAS-wide events for all first-year students.
