Questions about data breaches

A data breach is a breach of security leading to the destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of or unauthorised access to personal data that has been transmitted, stored or otherwise processed. For an incident to be classified as a ‘personal data breach’, the involvement of malicious intent is irrelevant.

Data breaches can be reported to the ICTS Service Desk by emailing servicedesk-icts@hva.nl or calling 020- 951402. Outside office hours, please email servicedesk-icts@hva.nl.

Records are kept of all incidents and their handling.

Any loss, theft or hack of ICT equipment containing personal data must be reported to the ICTS Service Desk immediately. Such a situation is likely to constitute a data breach. As a rule, the AUAS is required to report all data breaches to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. This must be done within 72 hours of discovering the breach. It is therefore important to contact the ICTS Service Desk immediately in the event of any loss, theft or hack of personal data. You can do so by emailing servicedesk-icts@hva.nl or calling 020- 951402. Outside office hours, please email servicedesk-icts@hva.nl.

You can also report a data breach to the ICTS Service Desk via servicedesk-icts@hva.nl or 020- 951402. Outside office hours, please email servicedesk-icts@hva.nl.
