Are you an international student, do you study at the AUAS and do you have a legal question? The Legal Consultation Centre is here to help you with free legal advice!
Legal fields
You can address the legal consultation centre on questions concerning:
- employment and income
- liability
- compensation of damages
- taxes
- allowances
- consumer issues,
- divorce
- maintenance
- acknowledgment of a child
- parental authority
- debts
- tenancy issues.
Questions on your studies or other personal issues can also be asked. If we cannot be of help, we will refer you to one of our cooperation partners. The centre not only helps you find out what rights and obligations you have in a certain situation, which steps you can or should take, but our centre’s staff also help you write letters, notices of objection and / or notices of appeal.
International AUAS students
Are you an international student, do you study at AUAS and do you have a legal question? The legal consultation centre is ready to advise! If we cannot be of help, we will refer you to one of our cooperation partners. The centre not only helps you find out what rights.
Location
The centre is located in room 02A08 of the Muller-Lulofs building. To get answers to (legal) questions, you can just walk in during the consulting hours, between 09.00 and 16.00. from Mondays to Fridays.
You can also fill in our application form or visit or of the BOOT consultation centres in Amsterdam Zuidoost, Nieuw-West and Oost. Our staff also provide legal support at these BOOT locations as well.
The Legal Consultation Centre was established by the AUAS bachelor degree programmes Legal Studies and Social Legal Services in 2007. The centre provides legal advice, for free, to AUAS members and residents of Amsterdam. The centre handles about 700 cases annually. The centre’s staff are third-year students of the degree programmes Legal Studies and Social Legal Services. During their internship period, these students are supervised by Law and Language teachers of the AUAS legal degree programmes.
