Confidential advisor for the accused
Are you facing a complaint, report, investigation or action because of inappropriate behaviour?
If you are a student or staff member accused of or facing complaints of inappropriate behaviour, it can be quite serious. Inappropriate behaviour includes behaviours such as: bullying, discrimination, (sexual) harassment, abuse of power, violence and aggression.
You may find yourself in the position of accused if a formal complaint about your behaviour has been filed with the Inappropriate Behaviour Complaints Committee (KOG). You may also encounter a complaint or accusation in another way, for example when one or more reports about your behaviour have been shared with a manager who decides to investigate the situation (or have it investigated) and/or takes action. In all these cases, you can request guidance from the Confidential Advisor for the Accused.
Are you in need of support?
You are not alone. The Confidential Advisor for the Accused can support and advise you if you are dealing with a complaint, report, investigation or action due to inappropriate behaviour. You can talk confidentially with the Confidential Advisor for the Accused, to share what is going on and explore together whether there are possibilities to de-escalate the situation and/or there may be other appropriate steps. The Confidential Advisor for the Accused can also support you during hearings or assist you during a formal complaint process with the Inappropriate Behaviour Complaints Committee (KOG). If necessary, the Confidential Advisor for the Accused can also refer you to additional help or legal assistance.
