A-Z Students International Degree in English and Education

Termination of enrolment

If you have graduated or if you wish to terminate your enrolment, follow all the steps below.

Check your postal and email address and telephone number and make any changes if necessary.

  • Terminating your enrolment in the months September through to May?
Go to 'My Study Programmes' on your home page, and select your study programme. On the next page, select 'Request to Terminate Enrolment' from the 'possible actions' listed next to your enrolment for this academic year. Complete the various steps and confirm your request to terminate your enrolment. You may be entitled to a restitution of your tuition fees. Graduated? Your enrolment termination will be finalised as soon as your degree certificate has been recorded in SIS.
  • Terminating your enrolment in the months June through to August?
Go to 'My Study Programmes' on your home page, and select your study programme. On the next page, select 'No re-enrolment' from the 'possible actions' listed next to your enrolment for this academic year. You are not entitled to restitution of your tuition fees and your enrolment will be terminated on 31 August. Graduated? If you fail to graduate before 1 September, you still have the option to 're-enrol' in Studielink.

When you terminate your enrolment, you will also be required to cancel any ongoing student financial assistance. You can do so by selecting 'Submit changes' on the DUO website. You can submit changes online or via a printed form. This procedure enables you to specify the date upon which you will be terminating your enrolment from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS).

Please note that you are only entitled to student financial assistance if you are enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences. Example: if you terminate your enrolment as of 1 January, you will be entitled to student financial assistance until the end of December.

When you cancel your student financial assistance, you will also be required to cancel your Public Transport (OV) card. See the DUO website to find out how.

Deadline

At the latest, you must cancel by the tenth working day of the first month in which you are no longer eligible for student financial assistance. If you are enrolled at AUAS, have already activated your Public Transport card but decide not to study after all, make sure to cancel your card before the first day of the month in which your student grant was set to begin. If you wait longer, you may be fined.

Public Transport card after cancellation

You are entitled to keep your Public Transport card after it has been cancelled. You can then use it as a personal Public Transport card and charge it with other public transport products and credit.

As soon as your Student Administration Office notifies you that your request to terminate your enrolment has been approved, send your Student ID card to:

Hogeschool van Amsterdam
t.a.v. Chipkaartbeheer
Antwoordnummer 47636
1070 VD Amsterdam

AUAS email address still valid for 3 months

After your termination of enrolment, your AUAS e-mail address will remain valid for another 3 months and you will be able to receive and send emails. After this period your account will be deleted and you will no longer have access to AUAS's digital environment. We advise you to download important documents within this three-month period and save them elsewhere.
