Building accessibility
Students with disabilities should be able to use the buildings at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) to the fullest extent possible.
Requesting a mobile lift (for access to podiums)
The podiums at various lecture halls at the Amstel Campus are accessible to wheelchair users by means of a mobile lift. If you would like to make use of a mobile lift, please contact the FS Service Desk by emailing servicedesk-fs@hva.nl or calling 020 595 1403. Please specify the date, time and room where you will be needing the wheelchair lift. Please report to the reception desk upon arrival. Our reception staff will be happy to assist you from there.
Assistance in the event of emergencies
Each building has its own Company Emergency Response (CER) team. If the lifts cannot be used, for example in the event of an emergency or during evacuation drills, the CER officers will lead those with reduced mobility to the exit via the stairway. If you have any questions about this procedure, please contact your student counsellor.
How to request assistance
- If you require assistance in a building or need help using one of the building’s facilities, you can request this by contacting the FS Service Desk via servicedesk-fs@hva.nl or 020 595 1403, or by approaching the on-site service desk. The staff can provide arrangements such as additional tables for wheelchair users, adapted furniture etc.
- Students with reduced mobility who are only able to travel to AUAS by car can contact the student counsellor for advice.
- As part of its services, FS provides information about the facilities present and available at each location, including information and signs on-site. For details, see Studying with a disability.
