Email on your phone, tablet and laptop

Access your email through Outlook on the web or the Outlook application.

Set up email on mobile phone or tablet

On Microsoft's support pages you can read how to set up your email (and other apps by Microsoft 365) on your Android phone or tablet, or on your iPhone or iPad. For the best user experience we recommend the Outlook app.

POP3 and IMAP do not meet our safety requirements, and are therefore not available.

Sending limit

You can send emails to a maximum of 250 addresses per hour. This can be either in one message with 250 addresses in the To/Cc/Bcc fields, or more messages with fewer recipients. A distribution list or group from the shared address book counts as one recipient. If you exceed this limit, you will not be able to email to addresses outside the UvA for 24 hours. After that period, you can resend saved messages, bearing in mind the sending limit.

Software to read email

Use one of the following software programmes to read your email:

Desktop/laptop Mobiel/tablet Internetbrowser
Outlook 2016 en hoger Outlook Mobile iOS Chrome
Outlook for Mac 2016 en hoger Outlook Mobile Android MS Edge
Exchange ActiveSync in iOS 11 en hoger

Using email after terminating your enrolment

When you deregister as a student, you can use your AUAS email address as long as your AUAS-ID is still valid. After that, your AUAS email account will be closed.
